General Questions
Q1. What is Ride and Tech?
Ride and Tech is an online rental marketplace that connects vehicle owners (providers) with users (renters) for self-drive vehicle rentals.
Q2. Who can use Ride and Tech?
You must be at least 18 years old with a valid driving license to rent a vehicle. Providers must be legal owners or authorized to list vehicles.
Booking & Usage
Q3. How do I make a booking?
Select your vehicle, choose your dates and location, upload required documents, make the payment, and confirm your booking.
Q4. What documents are required to rent a vehicle?
Users typically need:
- Valid driving license
- Government ID (Aadhaar, Passport, etc.)
- Any additional documents specified by Ride and Tech before pickup
Q5. Can I book a vehicle for someone else?
Yes, but the actual driver must be present at pickup with valid documents.
Q6. Can I choose multiple drivers?
Only those drivers who are registered and have valid documents for the rental can drive the vehicle.
Pricing & Payments
Q7. What is included in the rental price?
Rental price may include base rental, platform fee, and any applicable taxes. Additional charges (like fuel, cleaning, or traffic fines) may arise if terms are violated.
Q8. Why is a security deposit required?
A security deposit protects against damage, fines, fuel discrepancies, or late return charges. It is refundable after inspection if no extra charges apply.
Q9. How long until my security deposit is refunded?
Once the vehicle is returned and checked, your deposit (or balance) is typically refunded within a specified period as per policy.
Cancellations & Modifications
Q10. What if I need to cancel my booking?
Refunds depend on how early you cancel before pickup. Full or partial refunds may be available — refer to our Cancellation & Refund Policy for details.
Q11. Can I change my booking dates or vehicle?
Yes, if available. Changes may result in price adjustments or additional fees depending on availability and timing.
Vehicle Use & Rules
Q12. Can I take the vehicle out of state or city?
This depends on provider rules. Some vehicles can be driven regionally — check details during booking.
Q13. Do I need to refill fuel before returning the vehicle?
Yes, you should return the vehicle at the agreed fuel level. Failure to do so may result in fuel charges.
Q14. What happens if the vehicle is damaged?
Users are responsible for damage beyond normal wear and tear. Charges may be deducted from your security deposit or additional billing. Providers should document pre-existing damages before handover.
Accidents & Insurance
Q15. What if I have an accident?
Report to the provider and Ride and Tech immediately, and, if applicable, file a police report. Follow insurance procedure. Both parties should cooperate with claims.
Q16. Is insurance included?
Insurance coverage depends on the vehicle/provider policy. Users should confirm what is covered before booking.
Provider (Owner) Questions
Q17. How do I list my vehicle?
Register as a provider and submit vehicle details, photos, and required documents. Ride and Tech reviews listings before activation.
Q18. What rates can I set?
Providers can set base rental rates. The platform may suggest competitive pricing. Ride and Tech deducts a commission on completed bookings.
