Ride And Tech – Rental Services

This Provider Agreement (“Agreement”) sets out the terms and conditions applicable to vehicle owners or authorized operators (“Provider”, “you”, or “your”) who list vehicles for rental through Ride And Tech (“Platform”, “Ride And Tech”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By registering as a Provider or listing a vehicle on rideandtech.com, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Agreement.
1. Platform Role
Ride And Tech operates as a technology marketplace that connects vehicle providers with customers seeking self-drive rental vehicles.
Ride And Tech:
- Does not own the vehicles listed by Providers.
- Does not operate or control Provider vehicles.
- Facilitates the technology platform through which Providers and users can connect.
- Does not act as an employer, partner, or agent of the Provider.
Providers operate independently and are responsible for complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and obligations relating to their vehicles and rental activities.
2. Eligibility to Become a Provider
To list a vehicle on Ride And Tech, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be the legal owner of the vehicle or have appropriate authorization from the owner to offer the vehicle for rental.
- Provide accurate and current vehicle information.
- Hold valid vehicle documentation, including, where applicable:
- Registration Certificate (RC)
- Valid insurance
- Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate
- Other documents required by applicable law.
Ride And Tech reserves the right to approve, reject, suspend, or remove any Provider or vehicle listing at its discretion, subject to applicable law.
3. Vehicle Listing Requirements
Providers are responsible for ensuring that all information provided in a vehicle listing is accurate and up to date.
Vehicles listed on Ride And Tech must:
- Match the description and images provided in the listing.
- Be roadworthy and reasonably clean.
- Be maintained in a safe operating condition.
- Have no known unresolved safety or mechanical defects that could affect the renter.
- Not contain illegal modifications or alterations.
Ride And Tech may suspend or remove a vehicle listing if it does not meet applicable safety, documentation, or platform standards.
4. Pricing and Availability
Providers are responsible for setting their base rental prices and maintaining accurate availability information.
Ride And Tech may provide pricing recommendations based on market conditions or other relevant information. Such recommendations do not require a Provider to adopt a particular price unless otherwise agreed.
Providers are expected to keep their availability information current.
If a Provider makes a vehicle unavailable after a confirmed booking without a valid reason, the Provider may be subject to applicable platform measures, including penalties, reduced visibility, suspension, or other action.
5. Commission and Payments
Ride And Tech operates using a commission-based model.
A service or platform fee may be deducted from completed bookings in accordance with the applicable commercial terms communicated to the Provider.
Commission rates and applicable fees may vary and may be communicated separately to Providers.
Provider payouts are generally released after:
- Completion of the rental.
- Completion of any required vehicle inspection.
- Resolution or deduction of applicable charges.
Ride And Tech may temporarily withhold a payout where there is an unresolved dispute, damage claim, suspected misuse, fraud concern, or other legitimate reason requiring investigation.
6. Security Deposits and Deductions
Where applicable, a security deposit may be collected from the renter.
A Provider may request deductions from an applicable security deposit for legitimate charges such as:
- Vehicle damage
- Missing accessories or equipment
- Excessive cleaning
- Other documented charges arising from the rental
Any claim for a deduction should be supported by appropriate evidence, which may include:
- Photographs
- Videos
- Inspection records
- Repair invoices
- Receipts
- Other relevant documentation
Providers should not claim deductions for normal wear and tear.
7. Provider Responsibilities
Providers agree to:
- Make the vehicle available at the confirmed time and location.
- Deliver the vehicle in a safe and reasonably clean condition.
- Provide accurate information about the vehicle.
- Explain relevant vehicle operating instructions and applicable rental rules to the user.
- Maintain valid insurance and required vehicle documentation throughout the listing period.
- Inform Ride And Tech of relevant incidents, damage, accidents, or disputes.
- Cooperate with Ride And Tech during disputes, accident investigations, or legitimate legal or regulatory inquiries.
Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in listing restrictions, suspension, or termination of the Provider account.
8. Accidents and Vehicle Damage
Providers must promptly inform Ride And Tech of any significant accident, damage claim, or other incident involving a rented vehicle.
Where possible, existing damage should be documented before the vehicle is handed over to the renter.
Providers must not charge renters for ordinary wear and tear.
Where an insurance claim is required, the Provider is responsible for cooperating with the insurer and following applicable insurance requirements and procedures.
Ride And Tech may request photographs, inspection records, invoices, insurance documents, or other supporting evidence when reviewing a damage-related matter.
9. Taxes and Legal Compliance
Providers are responsible for complying with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements associated with their vehicle and rental activities.
This may include:
- Income tax obligations
- GST obligations, where applicable
- Vehicle registration requirements
- Insurance requirements
- Local transport authority requirements
- Other applicable permits, licences, or regulatory requirements
- Fines or penalties resulting from Provider negligence or non-compliance
Ride And Tech does not provide tax, legal, or regulatory advice to Providers.
Providers should obtain independent professional advice where necessary.
10. Account Suspension or Termination
Ride And Tech may suspend, restrict, or terminate a Provider account or vehicle listing where there are legitimate concerns, including:
- Providing false or misleading information
- Repeated cancellation of confirmed bookings
- Safety concerns
- Legal or regulatory concerns
- Platform misuse
- Fraudulent activity
- Failure to maintain required documentation
- Failure to cooperate with legitimate investigations
Where appropriate, Ride And Tech may also remove individual vehicle listings while allowing the Provider account to remain active.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Ride And Tech is not responsible for losses arising directly from circumstances under the Provider's control, including:
- Loss of rental income
- Mechanical failures
- Vehicle maintenance issues
- Provider negligence
- Indirect or consequential losses
Nothing in this Agreement is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Providers agree to indemnify and hold Ride And Tech harmless against claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising from matters under the Provider's responsibility, including:
- Vehicle condition
- Provider negligence
- Legal or regulatory non-compliance
- Incorrect or misleading vehicle information
- Failure to maintain required documentation
- Breach of this Agreement
13. Changes to This Agreement
Ride And Tech may update this Provider Agreement from time to time to reflect changes to the platform, services, business practices, or applicable legal requirements.
The updated version will be published on this page along with the applicable Last Updated date.
Providers are responsible for reviewing the current version of the Agreement.
Continued use of Ride And Tech as a Provider after an updated Agreement has been published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms, subject to applicable law.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Agreement is governed by the laws of India.
Any disputes relating to this Agreement or the Provider's use of the Ride And Tech platform will be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts in India, subject to applicable law.
